Qualitative Audience Research Questionnaire

For the qualitative audience research, I required longer answers that meant I could get more detailed feedback. The type of data received from a qualitative survey consists of longer answers that can't be transformed into numerical values. To get the answers I was looking for, I asked open questions based on my story board, to get feedback which I could use to improve my film intro. The following questions are those that I asked to everyone who took part in the survey:

Qualitative Audience Research

What are the issues and themes that you can see based on just looking at the storyboard?

Can you tell what the subject matter is from the storyboard? What is it?

What are the key areas of representation?

Are there any social realism conventions within the storyboard? What ones can you identify?

Which technical codes can you see that will be used?

How are these technical codes appropriate for the areas of representation/issues/themes?

Are there any technical codes that haven’t been clearly employed in the storyboard that would create
a more meaningful representation?

What is your opinion on the shot variety?

What camera movements can you identify and do you think there is enough?

What location do you think is appropriate for making an intro based on this storyboard?

What is your opinion on the use and variety of props?

What would you recommend to use for a costume?

What is your opinion on the hair and makeup used?
